Research Interest:
|
I have been working in the field of Zoology and Aquatic Biology. My major interests include,
(1) Reproductive traits and sex change in aquatic animals by exploring the biochemistry characteristics of protein and its role in sex determination in male and female Chinese shrimp, studying the development of male Chinese shrimp sex gland and its function analysis, and revealing the sex determination mechanism in Chinese shrimp etc. I have purified the vitelline precursor proteins, studied their biochemical characteristics, and cloned Chinese shrimp vitelline protein gene.
(2) Environmental factors that affect the growth of aquatic animals. My researches in this area include techniques for live and winter storage of Japanese shrimp (Macrobrachium nipponense) and salt marshes shell and shrimp polyculture pond water quality study. I am particularly interested in the physiological mechanisms of shrimp and fish under low temperatures and have studies the physiological indicators of several fish and shrimp species in different temperature and other factors. I am now working on the fish antifreeze protein and gene.
