Research Interest:
|
My research activities focus on three areas:
(1) Plankton ecology: Biodiversity and ecology of Protozoa and Rotifera, and use of protozoan community characteristics as biological indicators of water quality. In the study of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), microbial communities living in natural water were collected using the PFU method. A microbial enrichment culture from the microbial community was able to easily evaluate any trace of POPs in the water system.
(2) Protozoa and its adaptation to extremely adverse environmental condition: A protozoa is a single-cell eukaryote with high species diversity and distributed under various adverse conditions. I am studying protozoan adaptation mechanisms to those adverse conditions from biochemistry and molecular aspects.
(3) Aquatic animal’s disease problems and germplasm: My research focuses on disease development, control, generics, breeding, and germplasm resources protection.
